BRAINSTORM SHOW CANCELLED

Unfortunately we have to cancel the show at Brainstorm festival. The reason for us cancelling this so close in time to the festival is health/hearing related for Markus. He has been ordered by doctors and specialists to rest for a few months. We ask and hope for your understanding in this matter, we are truly sorry for this and we hope to see you another time soon.

DARKWATER UPDATE

We´ve understood that a lot of people are curious and would like an update on what is going on with Darkwater at the moment. It´s now been a while since we released our first album and we quite recently parted with our bass player. So what is really happening in the dark waters?

Regarding the bass player spot, we have auditioned several people but still haven´t found exactly what we are looking for. We will keep looking until we find the perfect match. In the meantime we will use Simon Andersson (ex-Pain of Salvation) as a session player. He is an amazing bass player with lots of experience, and a better substitute would probably be impossible to find.

And what is happening with the new album? For quite some time we´ve gone through all the music we´ve had laying around, re-written a lot of it and written a bunch of new songs. So right now we have far too many songs to put on one album, or even ten albums. But we are doing our best to choose the most fitting songs for this up-coming album. We still have a lot of lyrics to write and also some melodies, but we are planning to head into the recording studios later this year. So some time next year there will be a new Darkwater album out for you to enjoy.

BASS PLAYER SUBSTITUTE

We still haven´t found our new bassplayer, though we have tried out quite a few we are still looking for that special one :)
Therefore, Simon Andersson (ex Pain of Salvation) will be the one to fill in for the gig at Brainstorm Festival, Holland.

ENTIRE DEBUT ALBUM AVAILABLE FOR STREAMING

The debut album from the Swedish progressive metal band Darkwater;
"Calling the earth to witness" was released in May two years ago by
Ulterium Records. To celebrate this, the entire album will be available
for streaming at the bands myspace profile during May.

Darkwater is currently working on new material for the follow-up album to
"Calling the earth to witness", and the band is planning to start
recording later this year.

ANNOUNCEMENT

We've decided to part ways with Karl Wassholm.
The reason for this is that we have felt for a long time that the chemistry between the four of us and Karl has
not matched the way we wanted it to.
We wish Karl all the best in his future music career, and we know he will succeed in whatever he chooses to do.


This is Karl's statement:

This was not a mutual decision, and I was as surprised as anyone to find
out that I was no longer wanted in the band.
I have had a great six years in the band, playing with them from the
beginning, and I've really enjoyed creating some great music together
with these guys. It saddens me that I will not be around to reap the
real benefits of the time and effort that all of us have put in to this
band. Darkwater has always been destined for greatness.

Anyone who knows me knows that I will keep on making music. This will by
no means be the last you hear from me - keep checking my myspace and my
website for updates.

BAND OF THE MONTH ON HARDROCK HAVEN

Darkwater have been chosen Band of the month on Hardrock Haven! There is a very cool and interesting article written, read it HERE!

A NEW YEAR HAS COME

A new year has come and we feel it is time for an update! Last year was amazing for us, we played some great festivals and had some great gigs. And we found we had a lot of support from all of you, thank you for that! Right now we are writing some new material for our next album, and so far we feel very exciting about it! We aim to get in to the recording period as soon as possible and to get a new album out later this year!

DARKWATER AT BAY AREA ROCK FESTIVAL

Darkwater will perform at the Bay Area Rock Fest in San Francisco, California together with Liquid Tension Experiment, Jeff Scott Soto, Sun Caged, Zero Hour among others. The show will be held on The Independent and Darkwater will perform on Saturday the 28th of June!

In April Darkwater recorded their video for The Play part II in Gothenburg. Director for the video was René U Valdes from the video production company GREENWORKS. Check out the video on the first page, on Darkwater´s myspace site or on Youtube.

North American release dates announced

Ulterium Records [SWEDEN] and Nightmare Records [U.S.] have inked a deal for the North American release of the "Calling the earth to witness" album by the Swedish melodic/progressive metal band DARKWATER. The album was released in Sweden May 28th and in Norway June 18th by Ulterium Records. Nightmare Records will distribute the album exclusively in North America, and the release dates are set for August 28th in Canada, and September 11th for the US.

Darkwater European release date announced

Ulterium Records [SWEDEN] and Metal Heaven [GERMANY] have inked a deal for the European release of the "Calling the earth to witness" album by the Swedish melodic/progressive metal band DARKWATER. The album was released in Sweden May 28th, and in Norway June 18th. Metal Heaven will distribute the album exclusively in the rest of Europe, and the release date is set for August 31th.

ALBUM OUT IN SWEDEN, RELEASE DATE IN NORWAY ANNOUNCED

"Calling the earth to witness" is now available in Sweden. You can get it at your local records store, or through one of the online stores like Ginza, Cdon etc.

June 18th the album will be out in Norway through Indie Distribution, and more release dates will be announced soon.

ULTERIUM RECORDS SIGNS DARKWATER
Darkwater has been signed by Ulterium Records. The debut album "Calling the earth to witness" is scheduled for a May 28 release in Sweden. Release dates for other territories will be announced soon.
